Take on the Cambridge Half Marathon and make a difference close to home

Looking for a place in the Cambridge Half Marathon 2027? Join Team Acorn and turn every mile into life-changing support for local children and families.

The Cambridge Half Marathon is one of the UK's most popular running events, taking runners on a spectacular route through the historic streets of Cambridge. You'll experience the incredible atmosphere of race day while raising funds for a small local charity making a big impact across Cambridgeshire.

By running for Cambridge Acorn Project, you'll help provide long-term therapeutic support for children and families affected by trauma, abuse and difficult life experiences.

About the Cambridge Half Marathon

The Cambridge Half Marathon is renowned for its fast, scenic course and fantastic crowd support. Starting and finishing in the heart of Cambridge, runners pass some of the city's most iconic landmarks, historic colleges and beautiful green spaces.

Whether you're aiming for a personal best, taking on your first half marathon, or running in memory of someone special, the Cambridge Half offers an unforgettable race-day experience.

Why run for Cambridge Acorn Project?

When you choose Team Acorn, you're supporting children and families right here in your local community.

Every pound you raise helps us provide specialist therapeutic support to those who need it most, helping create the conditions for children to flourish and have a fair chance in life.

As a small local charity, your fundraising goes directly towards making a difference close to home in Cambridge and across the county.

What do I need to raise?

To secure your place, we ask runners to:

  • Pay a £60 registration fee

  • Commit to raising £350 in sponsorship

The £60 registration fee is deducted from your £350 fundraising target, meaning you will aim to raise a further £290 in sponsorship.

As a small charity, we purchase places in the event upfront, so this helps ensure every place taken generates valuable income to support our work.

When you join Team Acorn, you'll receive:

✅ A Cambridge Acorn Project running T-shirt

✅ Fundraising tips, ideas and resources to help you reach your target

✅ Regular support and encouragement from our Fundraising Manager
